Job description
Reporting to the Head of Engineering and working within the Pre – production team you will give engineering and technical support in order to achieve the most efficient and cost effective means of manufacture for various fabricated and machined products.
At this present moment due to increased workload we are looking for Engineers with a strong welding or machining background, ideally having knowledge of both disciplines.
Main responsibilities
To plan the most efficient method of manufacture for various parts.
Create comprehensive and clear engineering routings using ERP systems
Provide engineering drawings to aid manufacture
Give shop floor technical support on all processes
Liaise with production to improve new and existing products and processes in order to cost reduce products and drive efficiency in factory
Be able to provide accurate costings for fabricated and machined parts depending on your strengths to assist the estimating team.
Organise weld procedures and tests as required for new components if you are welding biased.
Person description
The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following
Solid fabrication and/or machining background gained in a subcontract environment.
Fully conversant in the use of 2D Autocad.
Experience of Inventor 3D would be advantageous.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and ideally is confident in the use of an ERP system.
Ideally qualified to HNC level in a mechanical engineering discipline.
A driven individual with a desire to achieve results and attention to detail.
